It is hard to believe that we are approaching the start of 2024 and that the Christmas Festivities are behind us for another year.

The past year has certainly been a busy one and I have enjoyed your company as I have travelled the province attending Installations, Certificate presentations, regular meetings, and social events. I have also enjoyed being with a number of you at meetings of UGLE both in London and in South Wales.

The next 12 months will see the culmination of our Festival with the Finale event taking place on the 8th November 2024 at Truro Cathedral. Despite everything that Covid threw at us, we have made steady progress with our Festival, and I am hopeful that with a lot of hard work and with your continued generosity we will break the £1 million target.

I pay tribute to your continued commitment to the Membership Challenge which has been outstanding this past year. As a Province we have made substantial gains during 2023 but still find ourselves in a breakeven position.

I am delighted with the work that has been conducted in respect of bringing in new members and retaining our existing members. Please keep this momentum going so that we can continue to grow the membership of our wonderful Province.

Our Province is honoured to have been nominated to host one of the official Prestonian lectures in 2024. Only 4 of these are held each year and it is likely that we will hold the event at Falmouth next May. It really is the chance of a lifetime to attend one of these lectures in our own Province and I look forward to your support and attendance.

You will have heard me throughout the last year enjoining you all to enjoy your masonry and to have fun. This is a top priority for me. If we have fun and enjoy our meetings others will see what we are doing and want to be a part. Please talk about what we do, tell them about our fantastic organization and ask them to join us.

I am extremely proud and honoured to lead the wonderful Province of Cornwall, but I couldn’t do so without the unstinting help and guidance of my Deputy and Assistants.

I am grateful to you all for the many hours of volunteer commitment, charitable support, and service to our local communities. Thank you all for everything that you do.

May I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year and look forward to your company in the near future.
