Towan Lodge in Newquay recently met on the 7th March 2024 and carried out the first of a double Passing to Fellow Craft of their five Entered Apprentices. We were also honoured to have visit us W.Bro. Alan Powell the Provincial Grand Charity Secretary.
W.Bro Alan presented a Plaque to our Charity Steward Bro. Vasant Maru on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master and the beneficences of money raised for the 2024 Festival.
Bro. Vasant with the help of Bro. John Woolley obtained a vast amount of donations and raffle ticket sales, primarily for an emergency meeting last year to help raise awareness of Prostate Cancer. When had members of twelve Buckinghamshire and Middlesex Lodges visit us at the end of charity cycle ride. An online auction was also recently held that was put together and administered by W.Bro. Victor Williams.
Nearly £10,000.00 was raised in all, from which a donation of £6000 was made at the February Installation to the Festival 2024. This along with previous our donation, gained the Lodge a framed Certificate celebrating that the Lodge was now a Festival Steward Lodge. This was presented on the night by W.Bro. Michael Pritchard Assistant Provincial Grand Master.
