Most Excellent Grand Superintendent Jonathan M Arnold

On a crisp October morning, the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Cornwall gathered at the Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth to celebrate the investiture of their new Grand Superintendent, E. Comp. Jonathan M. Arnold. This event marked a significant chapter for Cornish Royal Arch Masons, as members from across Cornwall and beyond came together in support and celebration. The hotel, adorned with traditional Cornish emblems, buzzed with a special sense of unity and pride that filled every corner of the grand hall.

As the procession began, Jonathan Arnold was ceremoniously ushered into the room, where he was greeted by the warm, familiar faces of his fellow Masons, past and present. The moment was both poignant and joyful, exemplifying the strength and camaraderie of Cornish Royal Arch Masonry. Jonathan, visibly moved by the turnout, later described the experience in his letter to the Companions of the Province. “Thank you to each and every one of you…nervously looking around; seeing so many familiar faces… WOW! What a day! I’m getting emotional even now!” His words captured the spirit of the day, reflecting not only his gratitude but also the deep connection he felt with those who stood by him on this memorable occasion.

The seamless coordination of the event was a testament to the dedication of the DC and Secretarial Teams, as well as the support from the outgoing and incoming Provincial teams. Jonathan extended his gratitude to everyone who had contributed to this special day, including the Companions from London and other provinces who traveled to be part of the ceremony. Even the staff at Penventon Park Hotel received Jonathan’s heartfelt thanks, especially the individual who kindly retrieved his phone—a small yet memorable moment that he mentioned fondly in his letter.

In his reflections, Jonathan expressed his excitement for the journey ahead, stating, “I am really looking forward to visiting you and your Chapters, representing this wonderful Province of ours on the wider Masonic stage.” His enthusiasm for fostering connections within Cornwall and across the larger Masonic community resonated deeply, promising a future of strengthened bonds and cherished traditions upheld. His words underscored a commitment not just to his new role but to the values and unity that Royal Arch Masonry embodies.

For everyone present, the investiture of Jonathan Arnold was more than a ceremonial appointment; it was a reaffirmation of the dedication and unity that defines Cornish Royal Arch Masonry. As he assumes his role as Grand Superintendent, Jonathan looks forward to the years ahead, determined to enrich the fellowship that holds this community together. For the Masons who attended, those who were there in spirit, and those yet to come, the investiture was a celebration of unity, fellowship, and the enduring bonds of the Masonic family in Cornwall.
